Miss Personality - Columbus, Ohio Baby Photographer

What can I say about Miss Amelia... she was a dream at her newborn shoot and was just as perfect for her 6 month session. She was full of smiles and so much personality! I was blowing bubbles to get her to smile, and she just blew them right back at me!

Ooh little lady, you are just too much for words!

The last one is my favorite...

Twice the Toes - Newborn Photographer Columbus, Ohio

In October of 2015 I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing couple's gorgeous wedding. It was a crazy day because typically the first weekend in October yields beautiful weather. Well this particular day it was 40 degrees and raining. It was unexpected, but they made the best of it, had a spectacular wedding and we got some amazing shots. So of course months later when they found out they were expecting, there was not only one little peanut in there... there were two. Another unexpected event, for a couple now used to the unexpected. Such a marvelous surprise!

These two little angels were so precious for their session. I always wanted to have twins myself, so I absolutely LOVE photographing them. And seeing a former wedding couple become parents is just icing on the cake!

Thank you again mom and dad for granting me the honor of capturing another one of your most important moments. Here are a few of my favorites.

Baby and the Elephant - Newborn Photography Columbus, Ohio

When mom and dad came in for their ordering session they mentioned that this little guy's nursery had an elephant theme. This is something I usually ask parents prior to our session, but somehow failed to do. So I had to make them something special that would go with the nursery that I could surprise the with. I had seen something similar to this image by another photographer so I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy how it turned out, and so were mom and dad.

I've had the pleasure of doing maternity portraits for this couple and then their precious son's newborn portraits. It's been such a wonderful journey to watch and I can't wait to continue to watch as little Abel grows.

Here are a few of my favorites from his newborn session last month.

These Three!!!! Columbus, Ohio Childrens Photographer

When these three adorable little ones' mama reached out to me to set up a session I was so excited. Mama and I went to high school together and have kept in touch on facebook. They live out of state and were coming in town for a visit and we squeezed in a special shoot for them. Mama wanted light and airy (ummm... in case you haven't noticed is my favorite) so I went with a basic back lit set up. It's always a little hard to do shoots with 3 children under the age of 5, but these three were not stop smiles! For real... there were so many good ones I couldn't even narrow down the proofing gallery!

They were so sweet together, it was obvious how much they love one another. And how cute are the littlest's boots? They are his great-grandpa's and we could barely get them to button up over his chubby little legs! When we were finished shooting I showed mama some of the shots from the back of the camera. She was so giddy and said how happy she was that I was able to capture them with their natural expressions and smiles. I try so hard to get children to have fun and avoid those 'fake smiles' so her comment was honestly the best compliment ever.

Here are just a few of the MANY adorable images we captured.

Baby's Best Friend - Newborn photographer Columbus Ohio

When mommy and daddy contacted me about doing this little guy's newborn portraits they asked if we could get a few shots with their Golden Retriever, Benson. I'm always a little apprehensive to shoot newborns with dogs because it can be unpredictable. Knowing this is typically a gentle breed I was happy to oblige. When Benson arrived he was a little excited. It took us a while to get him to sit still but he eventually did for a few seconds and I was able to get a shot. I actually took one of Benson with the baby moved aside and then one of the baby alone and composited them together. The safety of the baby is always the most important thing. I'm sure these two are going to be best friends. And baby Luca was such a great little subject and slept like a dream for his session.

Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot.

Mr. N - Newborn Photographer Columbus, Ohio

Doing a newborn session with a sibling that is 3 or under can sometimes be a challenge. But as a mom who was unable to get my own toddler to cooperate when her sister was born, I make it my mission to do everything I can to get a photo of the older sibling with the baby. I know it is one of the most important shots to mom and dad. And I just remember how sad I was when I didn't get one of my own kids. So while it did take a little longer, we were able to get this proud big brother and his baby brother and some great ones of the entire new family of four. Little brother was awake for a while too, which I actually love because it's nice to have images of the baby awake and asleep.

It was such a pleasure to meet this amazing family and capture such a special time. Here are a few of my favorites!

Kissed by a Butterfly - Newborn Photographer Columbus, Ohio

Miss Chloe's mama contacted me about a month ago inquiring about a newborn session. Like so many expecting mamas there are so many things to do and sometimes booking a newborn photographer is one of the things that is last on the list. But this mama had even more going on than I could have even imagined. Her own mother passed away shortly after she became pregnant. I was technically fully booked for the month, but I absolutely had to squeeze her in. We chatted about how we could best incorporate her mother, the baby's grandmother. In doing some research I discovered the the butterfly is a symbol of a guardian angel of a loved one who has passed away. I knew I was going to incorporate a butterfly, I just wasn't sure exactly how. Well after her shoot when I was going through all of the images I found the perfect image to use. It was like little Chloe put her finger out inviting the butterfly (her grandmother) to come and sit on it. There is no question this gorgeous little girl has a very special angel looking out for her.
