Better late than never - Newborn photographer Columbus, Ohio

This sweet little guy was more than 4 weeks when he came to visit for his newborn photography session. Mama had to have eye surgery days after delivering and scheduling within the recommended 2 week window just wasn't possible. So he was pretty awake for most of his session, but ooh my, I could not be more happy. Just look at those big eyes staring right at me. Be still my heart!

I was so looking forward to Quades session for many reasons. I've been photographing his beautiful big sister for more than a year now and I've known mommy for decades. We grew up together in the same neighborhood and recently reconnected. It's been so amazing watching this beautifull family grow and I can't wait to continue to watch both of these little ones as they reach new milestones.

My loves - Children's fine art photographer Columbus, Ohio

This time of year is so difficult when you have restless kiddos and they can't go outside for long. And we are trying to limit their television and ipad time. Thursdays are my days off and my little one stays home with me. Then my oldest gets off the bus at 11:45am. Yes you read it correct... 11:45AM!!!!! The day can be long, so yesterday I told them we could blow up the bounce house at my studio. I did have to take them with me to the dentist first. They were so good while I got my teeth cleaned. Aubrey, my youngest, sat next to the hygienist and watched and giggled the entire time.

After we headed to the studio. Aubrey is turning 3 in a few weeks so I knew I wanted to get a few portraits of her first. But Hayden wanted to get her photos taken too. Ummm yes!!! A child who actually wants her portrait taken now... I've died and gone to heaven! They both were so good. I only had to bribe them with Reece Cups and goldfish! Hayden is truly becoming a natural in front of the camera - she literally poses and moves and it is blowing my mind. And Aubrey, she just tilts her head and smiles and ooh my, I just can't even take it. I know she'll be a pro like her big sister in no time.

These past few weeks leading up to Aubrey turning 3 I've been getting so emotional. They both have gotten so big. My dad always told me how quickly time goes by once you have children. This year I'm going to do my best to not overwork myself and just enjoy my time with them and my husband. They're at such fun ages I don't want to miss anything!

Here are the few I had a chance to edit. We did a few other setups too, but these right here are the ones that stole my heart. And then a few of them in the bounce house after haha!

Little Thomas - Newborn baby photographer columbus ohio

Shortly after setting up this sweet guys newborn photography session his mama contacted me to reschedule because both he and she were ill and both had to be admitted to the hospital. Then when they were home poor mom and dad got the flu. I can't even imagine being first-time parents and going through so much so soon after giving birth. Thankfully both mom and baby made full recoveries and we were able to schedule his session when he was about 3 weeks old. I thought with him being about a week older than my normal age for photographing newborns he'd be awake. But this perfect little guy was amazing. He slept like a dream until the very end which I love that we got to see him with his eyes open.

Here are a few of my favorites from his session. If you would like to see more of my newborn portfolio click here. And for more information about all of my services click here.

Miss P and her furry big brother - newborn photographer columbus ohio

After a streak of boys in the studio last month, I was so excited to meet this precious beauty for her newborn portrait session. I couldn't wait to get out those headbands and flowers and just doll her all up! Not to mention, she had a big brother who was also coming... A furry little long haired dachshund who was just the perfect gentleman the entire time in the studio. So much excitement.

At first Miss Peyton was wide awake, I don't think she wanted to miss any of the action. Then she kept trying to feed when mama held her, so daddy took her and just so calmly and patiently rocked her to sleep. It was so heartwarming to see a days new daddy taking care of his baby girl so effortlessly.

Peyton stayed asleep for a while and we were able to get so many wonderful shots. Some of my favorites are the ones of her on mommy's wedding gown. What a special image I'm sure someday will be viewed on her own wedding day. After some props and a few blanket poses, Miss Peyton woke again. Which I actually love because she just had the most adorable expressions and those cheeks... so squeezable.

Below are a few of my favorites from her session. If you would like to see more of my newborn portfolio click here. And if you would like information about all of my sessions click the "services" tab above.

Maternity Photographer Columbus Ohio

You've probably noticed I've been posting a lot of maternity sessions lately. I would have to say next to newborns and babies, maternity is just becoming a genre I'm so passionate about. Last month I added 5 gowns to my maternity wardrobe available to clients and I'm even starting to purchase matching dresses for little girls to wear in images with their mommy's.

This session is one I'm really proud of. It was purchased by daddy as a surprise gift. He even made her hair amazing is that? We did get off to a bit of a rocky start, because this couple was coming from about an hour away. And since we were scheduled in the evening, the traffic was horrible and they spent nearly 2.5 hours in the car. I had to also organize child care and pick up from daycare but everything managed to come together and we got this stunning mama's session completed. She came in after the stress of that car ride and rocked this mostly nude session with ease. I can't wait to meet their little one later this month!

The sweetest little pea - newborn photographer columbus ohio

I first had the pleasure of meeting this family back in December before this little sweet pea was born. We did a mini maternity session in Old Hilliard. It is always so nice to meet parents while they are expecting - it makes me even more excited when the baby comes because we have already established a wonderful relationship and seeing them before and after becoming parents... there is nothing like it.

I couldn't wait to see their little girl when the came in last month for their newborn photography session. I was so shocked because I thought she would have a head full of dark hair like her beautiful mama, but boy was I wrong. This 5lb little angel had blond hair! Ooh she was just the sweetest, tiny, perfect little subject for her session.

Yesterday the family came back in for their proofing and ordering session, so I got to see Miss Elaina again - a whole 2lbs bigger and just as precious as ever. I'm so excited to design and order their beautiful album and prints so they can cherish these portraits for many years to come.

Ooh if every little one is as good as Mr. Oliver for 2018, it's going to be a great year! This perfect little guy was a dream and we were able to capture so many wonderful images for mom and dad at my studio in Old Hilliard.

My new favorite prop for little boys is the bucket. If you've followed my social media pages you've probably noticed a lot of those shots. And Oliver in the bucket yawning is one of my favorites!
